About Us
Our Mission
Food that brings people home.
We believe the best food tells a story. Ours is rooted in Latin and Native American tradition, crafted with honest ingredients, and made to be shared. Whether you grew up with these flavors or are discovering them for the first time, there's a seat at our table.
Proudly Latina & Native American Owned
Tuyyo's Meaning
“Tu y yo” (you and me) and “tuyo” (yours) reflecting togetherness, community, and a sense of belonging at the table.
We invite you to a seat at our family table, because what's mine is yours.
Fellowship & Friendship
Stefanie met Regina through joint networks in Chicago. Shortly after, Stefanie and jocelyn connected in a fellowship for minority-owned food businesses. We started setting up 1-1 calls to learn more about each other's work, and share resources.
We LOVED each other's products and wanted to see each other succeed, so we worked on figuring out ways to cost share like joint trade show booths and in-store sampling to start. We stayed with each other's friends and family -- one time staying on a friend's fishing boat to attend a nearby trade show!
The passion behind the products
Regina's Vision for Superfood Snacks
After her own health journey, Regina realized she could never find a snack that felt true to her Mexican roots and nourished her body the way she needed. So she created one. Tuyyo snacks are made from cactus, amaranth, pea protein and more; bringing real, bold Mexican flavors to the shelf in a way that's actually good for you. Because representation and wellness shouldn't be a compromise.
Stefanie's Real Fruit Refresh
Stefanie grew up with the vibrant, fruit-forward flavors of Mexican agua fresca and couldn't understand why the market kept offering artificial imitations instead of the real thing. She set out to change that crafting instant agua frescas made with real fruit powders and electrolytes that honor the authentic taste of an ancestral tradition worth celebrating.
Jocelyn's Taco Tuesday Glow Up
As a plant-based chef, Jocelyn knew that bold flavor was the secret to making any meal unforgettable, but she couldn't find seasonings that matched her vision. So she made her own, with twice the spices of most blends and flavors rooted in authentic culinary tradition rather than the same old generic options. Whether you're cooking vegetables, proteins, or anything in between, these seasonings are built to make it sing.
Bringing our brands together
As female founders, and as Latinas with roots in Mexican, South American, and Native American foodways, representation isn't a talking point for us. It's personal. We are building Tuyyo Foods because Latin flavors deserve real ingredients, modern design, and stories rooted in truth, not stereotypes. And we believe the strongest way to do that is together.
There were so many great reasons to bring our brands together - we aligned on values, our products make sense together (think taco tuesday with agua fresca and a bowl of chips), we want to create positive impact in the community we're building, we have different skill sets, and the list goes on. Most importantly, we felt the strength in coming together as a team.
We're ready to grow in this new Tuyyo Foods chapter and are excited to share the journey with our community!
Regina Trillo
Co-Founder, CEO & Chief Operations Officer
Born in Mexico City, some of Regina's earliest memories are of mercados and family kitchens. She was barely three years old when she discovered that food is a bridge between communities, something that connects us beyond our differences. Now based in Chicago, that love turned into a mission when she saw her culture misrepresented on grocery shelves. A former immigration attorney who spent her career advocating for human rights, Regina brought that same conviction to food. Recognized by Forbes, she brings her whole self to Tuyyo Foods' mission of elevating Latin culture through food that's bold, real, and made to share.
Stefanie Garcia Turner
Co-Founder & Chief Commercial Officer
Stefanie was born in San Antonio, TX, but from an early age, life had her on the move, bouncing around the country and soaking up the unique cultures, communities, and flavors each new place had to offer. As a proud Mexican American and member of the Texas Band of Yaqui Indians, her identity has always been deeply tied to heritage, tradition, and the incredible food that brings people together. That personal connection to culture and cuisine naturally guided her toward a 20 year career in the food and beverage industry, where she found her calling working with brands like Starbucks, Whole Foods Market, and This Saves Lives.
jocelyn ramirez
Co-Founder & Chief Marketing Officer
Born and raised in east Los Angeles, Jocelyn's love of food was forged in her abuelita's kitchen, where generations of family recipes from Zacatecas, México came to life with warmth and deep cultural pride. Those early memories planted the seeds of a lifelong culinary calling. That passion grew into a celebrated career as a recognized chef, published cookbook author, New York Times recipe contributor, CPG founder, and advocate for healthy food access in her community. She went on to found one of LA's most acclaimed Latin food businesses, driven by a mission to create delicious, plant-forward food rooted in Latine tradition and made for everyone's table.
